Its Been Awhile

Recently I remembered that I had this blog as it has fallen by the wayside. Oops… Many things have happened since 2019. What has been on my mind recently is steady growth despite setbacks.

Embracing Steady Growth: The Path to Sustainable Success

In my world overnight successes and rapid advancements are often far more exciting than the concept of becoming 50 basis points better a year. This may seem unglamorous or even boring. Yet, this has been my approach for sustainable success in both my personal and professional endeavors. Steady growth is not just about incremental progress; its a mindset. Consistency, resilience, and perseverance.

The Foundation of Steady Growth Mindset

Imagine a towering tree, maybe the General Sherman in the great state of California. This tree has withstood the test of time. Its strength lies not in sudden spurts of growth but in the steady accumulation of nutrients, water, and sunlight over many years. Similarly, steady growth in my life depends on with a solid foundation and steady progress. I have struggled with having clear vision and patience most of my adult life. I want what I want when I want it but this is not natural as we can see in the evidence of the General Sherman.

Clear Vision and Goals: One of my favorite author’s lessons is “Begin with the end in mind.” Whether in career aspirations, personal development, or starting your my own business having a roadmap was something I should had. Since learning this lesson I often repeat this saying to my self whenever I start a new project.

Continuous Learning: Embracing a growth mindset involves a commitment to learning and improvement. I use online courses, Youtube and regularly attend conferences to continue learning. Another great thing to do is to do something you never have done before. I recently went kayaking and learned a bunch.

Patience and Persistence: Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither are meaningful achievements. Patience is the key to navigating setbacks and challenges along the way. Persistence even when the journey becomes unmanageable.

Set Realistic Milestones: Break down long-term goals into manageable milestones. Celebrate achievements along the way to maintain motivation and reinforce positive habits. This has helped me pay off my credit card debt. Now its onto student loans.

Seek Feedback and Adapt: Regularly evaluate your progress and seek feedback from friends and people you trust.

Steady growth is not a passive process but an intentional journey. It requires dedication and a commitment even when you look at your shoes and say i dont feel like running today. Until next time; Keep Gathering 🙌 👔 🐝 🎸
